Claire House is the charity we are supporting this year and having had a wonderful start to our fundraising with the Coffee Morning in February, we were invited to visit their latest site in West Derby.
We were greeted by Georgina and other members of staff. Georgina showed us around the building. Currently downstairs has been redesigned to hold playrooms, a sensory room, therapy rooms which looked and felt like a spa. We enjoyed refreshments in the kitchen area and talked to staff at the reception.
The charity has been granted permission to extend their services which will include new office space on the first floor and a new block being added to the existing building to serve as a hospice, respite and butterfly rooms. Work is expected to start this year. It was fascinating seeing the rooms just as the nuns had left them and seeing the plans for the future of this vital service for babies, children, young adults and their families.
We are delighted to be helping this charity in 2026 and as well as raising funds (donations can be made on the JustGiving page) later this year we are hoping to be involved in events where we can share our Tai Chi and Qigong skills to add another dimension to the fundraising and support we are offering.
