Tuesday 9am – 10am Health Qigong & Tai Chi (suitable for beginners)

Health Qigong (HQ) is a wonderful Chinese system of exercise based on traditional Chinese medicine and also modern sport science and research.  The set being learned is one of ten forms created by the Chinese Health Qigong Association (CHQA).  Angela is an instructor member of the British Health Qigong Association (BHQA) and a senior instructor with Deyin Taijiquan Institute.  For each of the HQ routines there are books/DVDs which can be bought to aid with self practice should you wish to do that.  These can be bought from Tai Chi Link.

From September 2026 we will be working with the HQ set Yi Jin Jing (Muscle Tendon Changing exercises). The last year we were learning Ba Fa Wu Bu (Eight methods, five steps also known as the 13 postures).  These practices are suitable for beginners to either HQ or Tai Chi.

This is our only outdoor class and we are there throughout the year unless the weather is too severe.  We either practice in the Chinese garden or near the car park overlooking the river.  It is lovely to connect our energy with the energy of nature.

For the year 2026/27 we will be working in six-week blocks and holiday dates will be published on the website and notified in class as well.  A new payment system has also been introduced, and the cost of the six-week block is £30 payable up front.  This will be paid via bank transfer.  All details will be sent to you via email after submitting the registration form.
