This is an outdoor session at the Festival Garden site. The hour consists of warm ups, Health Qigong (HQ) and Tai Chi.
Health Qigong (HQ) is a wonderful Chinese system of exercise based on Traditional Chinese Medicine and also modern sport science and research. The set being learned is one of ten forms created by the Chinese Health Qigong Association (CHQA). Angela is an instructor member of the British Health Qigong Association (BHQA) and a senior instructor with Deyin Taijiquan Institute. For each of the HQ routines there are books/DVDs which can be bought to aid with self practice should you wish to do that. These can be bought from Tai Chi Link.
From September we will continue our learning of HQ Daoyin Yang Sheng Gong 12 Fa. Last year we were working on the Yang style 24 step Tai Chi form. The 24 step routine is a very popular, well known form which is performed throughout the world. Angela’s training is from a direct lineage to the creator of this form, Grandmaster Li Tianji (Great uncle of Master Faye Li Yip of the Deyin Taijiquan Institute). We will continue to perform this routine during the class but in addition we will also be learning BaFa WuBu (Eight methods, 5 Steps) routine and linking this to our 24 step.
Although most people who attend this class have been with me a little while, it is suitable for beginners who would like to try HQ and Tai Chi. If you are unsure then please contact me for a chat about it.
In addition to face to face practice, students also have the opportunity to access my video library on the website which will enhance the benefits of personal practice that can be gained from doing Tai Chi. A small monthly fee applies.
For the year 2025/26 we will be working in six-week blocks and holiday dates will be published on the website and notified in class as well. A new payment system has also been introduced for face to face classes and details will be sent to you via email after submitting the registration form.
