Angela is a senior instructor with Deyin Taijiquan Institute. Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) is an internal Chinese martial art studied and performed across the world by many people for their health and well-being. The standardised Yang style 88 step has its origins in what is also known as the long form. In traditional Tai Chi the number could be anything from 85 to 108 moves but was essentially the same form, just the moves counted differently. The form takes about twenty minutes to perform so is also good for building up stamina as well as the other benefits Tai Chi is known for.
To attend this class working knowledge of the 24 step form is essential. If you have not done the 24 form with me I will contact you after the completion of the registration form to have a chat about your Tai Chi history.
Ideally if the 88 step form is new to you, starting in September is important although you may be able to join later in the year and to help with catching up there is a DVD available from Tai Chi Link.
For the year 2026/27 we will be working in six-week blocks and holiday dates will be published on the website and notified in class as well. A new payment system has also been introduced, and the cost of the six-week block is £42 if doing one hour per week. Payment is payable up front. This will be paid via bank transfer. All details will be sent to you via email after submitting the registration form.
