Our Charity Coffee Morning on February 12th was a resounding success. The sun shone the whole time and people streamed in over the course of the morning. We had a fabulous selection of cakes to tempt them with as well as tables full of unused and new items including toiletries, chocolates, children’s gifts and many more. There was a raffle and bottle tombola to participate in as well.
Karen, the CEO of the Swan Womens Centre, was in attendance and gave us a talk on what the centre does to help and support young girls and women. She also shared the types of services that they provide and gave examples of how the money raised would be spent. Since then Karen has sent me a message explaining what the money raised will cover. You can see a copy of the message in the gallery.
It wouldn’t be a Tai Chi coffee morning without Tai Chi. Members of the Monday classes did themselves proud in an amazing demonstration of their Tai Chi skills. A video medley of their performances can be viewed here. Following that everyone was invited to take part in some dragon moves to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. There are plenty of photos in the gallery to view and admire.
As things stand at the moment we have raised £999.96 (including gift aid). Our LocalGiving page is still open for another couple of months so if you wish then you can make a donation. Donate here.
Finally thank you to everyone who made this happen – The Dream Team, the band of volunteers, those who donated items including Windmill and Passion for Flowers both on Aigburth Road who donated prizes for the raffle. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the amazing total and to those who couldn’t attend but also donated online. Well done everyone.
